OPEN reveals the design for the Shanfeng Academy project which topped out at the end of April. Situated in a new district of Suzhou city, the building will serve as the campus-centre for a new K-12 international school and will also act as a cultural hub for the local community.
As a tribute to the cultural heritage of the city, four gardens reflecting the four seasons of a year, are organized in the voids between five buildings. Elements of classical Suzhou gardens, such as scholar rocks, traditional pavement patterns, and the use of water, are integrated into these outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces.

Situated in a new district of Suzhou, Shanfeng Academy is the Cultural and Sports Center for Mountain Kingston Bilingual School, it also serves the local community as an active cultural hub.
