During a recent trip to the Netherlands to serve on the final jury session of the International Velux Awards, OPEN’s founding partner Li Hu was invited to lecture at two prominent Dutch architectural institutions—TU Delft and the Architecture Center of Amsterdam. At TU Delft, Li Hu’s lecture, entitled “HUMAN.NATURE”, explored the theme of architecture as a means of uniting man and nature. Held in the university’s Berlage Hall, it was followed by a public discussion of OPEN’s works with MVRDV partner Shi Wenqian.
At the Architecture Center of Amsterdam, Li Hu’s second lecture, “Architecture as Hope”, presented some of OPEN’s recent projects in culture and education, as well as thoughts and observations on the potential of architecture to react to the challenges of today.
