OPEN’s Founding Partners, Li Hu and Huang Wenjing, were invited to deliver the opening keynote speech “Coexistence” on September 19 at the UTS Great Hall for the 2025 Sydney Design Week, hosted by Powerhouse Museum. The Founding Partners shared their innovative approaches to designing spaces that connect us with nature, each other and ourselves.

OPEN presents a video installation project titled “Nature Trilogy”, a collaborative work by OPEN and film director Zhang Nan, at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale curated by Carlo Ratti, from May 10 to November 23, 2025, at The Corderie, Arsenale.

OPEN’s founding partner Li Hu is one of the 10 international architects elevated to Honorary AIA Fellows this year, as announced by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) on February 13, 2025.

“The AIA Honorary Fellowship program recognizes international architects for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society on an international level. Recipients of Honorary Fellowship are elevated to the College of Fellows.”

The Investiture Ceremony will be held at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design (AIA25) in Boston on June 5, 2025.
