The cinematic installation titled OPEN ReAction, as part of the Inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial, was officially open to public on October 3rd, 2015. The exhibition is located in the ground floor lobby of the Expo 72 building (72 E. Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60601), across street from the Chicago Cultural Center. The exhibition will last till January 03, 2016.

In the films, shot and edited by Spirit of Space, the visual narrative is built around three key topics, as embodied by four of OPEN Architecture’s built projects: China and its urban dynamics, the process of architectural creation, and poetry through behavior.

OPEN was selected as one of the participants in the very first architecture biennial in North America, the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial, which will launch in October 2015.

The list of participants was officially announced on April 14, 2015 by the Chicago Architecture Biennial organizers. Over 60 studios - representing more than 30 countries, across 5 continents - were selected by Biennial Co-Artistic Directors Joseph Grima and Sarah Herda. The participants were culled from a list of some 500 architects and were chosen on the basis of whether they are pushing the limits of, or redefining, the field, said the Artistic Director Sarah Herda (quoted from Chicago Tribune). Added Grima: “During our research, we have had conversations with hundreds of architects working in...

Architectural Record featured "Schools of the 21st Century" in its first issue of 2015. Beijing No.4 High School Fangshan Campus(also called "Garden School"), was selected as the cover image of the print magazine.

Architectural Record says: A microcosm of the world’s most architecturally significant K-12 schools, RECORD’s annual review looks at recent projects that exemplify good design as a crucial component in a school’s programmatic development. From an inner-city grade school in New York and a bucolic one on Washington’s Bainbridge Island, to a progressive high school for 1,200 students in Beijing, each demonstrates the value that thoughtful and sustainable architecture can have for the well-being of a community and the education of its children.
